"I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
-Acts 20:35

DONATE YOUR OLD LAWN EQUIPMENT TODAY !
We are currently seeking donations of lawn equipment. Our organization is dedicated to maintaining and improving public spaces within our community, but we are in need of tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers to effectively maintain these areas. Your donations would greatly contribute to our efforts in keeping our parks, playgrounds, and green spaces clean and well-maintained for the enjoyment of all community members. By supporting us and providing the necessary equipment, you will be helping to create a more beautiful and welcoming environment for everyone. Any contribution, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. Together, we can make a positive difference in our community. Thank you for your generosity!
2023 Crestwood Reunion Committee Fish Fry
Recap of the 2023 Crestwood Reunion Committee Fish fry
Our mission here at Helping Hands C.W. is to improve the quality of life in our communities. As well as, PROTECT and PRESERVE the history and legacy that was built by the members of these communities. The historical significance and impact that the Crestwood community had on African Americans in the area during the early 1940’s to late 90’s is considered unprecedented. A small community in the South Norfolk area (now considered Chesapeake) produced doctors, lawyers, attorneys, world renown musicians and actors, Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees, numerous professional athletes, multiple state championships, one of the highest ranked academic high schools in the State of Virginia (For both black and white schools), city officials, and so much more! All during a time when African Americans were thought of as “less than”. The Crestwood community defied all odds and excelled during one of the darkest times in African American history. And for that reason, we are currently working to submit a proposal to have the Crestwood community deemed a historical district/landmark in the State of Virginia. It is communities like these that need to be taught and passed down to our future generations.
